Experience 016 · Starting Over

The blank page.

A short reflective experience about loss, empty space, and what comes next. About 6 minutes. There are no right answers—only your own perception.

1 · Notice your starting point

Please note: This is a reflective community experience, not therapy, diagnosis, or treatment. You may stop at any time by closing the page.
Go at your own pace: this experience touches on loss. If it brings up more than you want to explore today, you can stop and come back anytime.

2 · The empty space

Something you built is gone—a job, a home, a relationship, a way of life. Maybe it ended slowly. Maybe it ended all at once.

The days that used to be full are suddenly empty. The routines, the people, the plans—there is a space where they used to be.

You keep reaching for what was there, and finding nothing. The blank feels like the loss itself.

Stay with that for a moment. Notice what you feel: grief, emptiness, fear, numbness, or something else entirely.

3 · Another view

You are not alone. Almost everyone faces a moment when something they built is gone, and many describe the same turning point: the moment the empty space stopped looking only like a loss.

The same space, two ways

Before. The old plan, already written—by habit, by others, by circumstance.

Now: a blank space, and you hold the pen.

Small ways to begin

Start with one line. You do not need a new life plan—just one small thing for this week.

Let the loss be real. Grieving what is gone and imagining what comes next can happen side by side.

Borrow ideas. Talk with people who have started over. Their paths can show you options you have not imagined.

Keep what you learned. What you lost may be replaced. The experience you gained is priceless, and it comes with you.

Many people only recognise the new beginning looking back. At the time, it felt like nothing but loss. That is normal, and it does not mean the beginning was not there.

A loss leaves a blank. You get to choose what fills it.

You do not have to accept this view. Just notice how it sits with you.

4 · Notice where you are now

The same questions as before. Answer how you feel now, not how you felt then.
